Before I even thought about handing over that info I asked them, how do I know your from VM. Every time they hang up after that. Suspicious to me.

Very similar to a call received in December 2012; on that occasion, asked me to press various buttons depending on the nature of my alleged problem. This time I hung up to dial 1471 but the call was still running. Eventually able to get their number.
