This number is an SMS text messaging service that I guess companies use ... My dentist uses this service to contact me regularly and did just now to remind me of a dentist appointment next week... Hope this helps you guys getting calls from all different companies... It is a legit messaging service and if you don t get the call it will call you back...

Phone call purporting to be from Amazon saying prime membership was due, i should press 1 to go to an agent to make payment, they had the wrong amount and the real payment is not due yet, also the call could not be cancelled the electronic voice carried on until the message was over, this very obviously a scam and the bank agrees. This is also the third time they have tried this one pointless!

As comments above, just had them call me claiming to be from Albany about my motor accident file. Never had an accident, told them so. They tried to pass it off as error until I asked who had been passing on my details to them... they wouldn t say. Asked for a manager, none available...until I said I d hold. Same spiel from the manager , and when I asked for the company details he gave 01704 222 222- the number of the legitimate Albany, despite my call ID having the 0161 displayed, and hung up sharpish.
