I was called on this number earlier today. When I tried to ascertain what the call was about, the young man hung up on me. When I called the number back a young woman informed me that I had not been called from that number.

Took call thinking it was from my wife using a calling card, I am overseas, the irish guy said "Hi, I am calling from Vodafone", I said, "No thanks I am overseas and paying for this call, I will call you back". "No" he said, "its free and will only take a few minutes", and carried on with his monologue. I hung up. You would have thought that someone who was genuinely from Vodafone would know about international call charges. No, I am not that naïve :)
