An aggressively annoying female American voice asking for me by name, late evening, saying that it was a personal call, and refusing to say who they were, other than their Christian name, or why they were phoning. I refused to confirm that anyone of that name was present and hung up. Then I put the number into google search, and found this site. A narrow escape. Well done shouldianswer.

Caller had Liverpool accent and said was from a company called ACA. Wanted to speak about a 'bump in the road' and possible compensation. I asked where she had got details from and was told it was from an 'opt-in provider' and when I asked for more details on who would be providing information on something that had not happened she hung up. Number now blocked.
Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 17929179xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI / insurance mareting / energy schemes. Just block it if not interested (I use the a
