This number calls me every week
Handset showed a local number but was also saying 'International' call. Said they were from Amazon and were talking about an Iphone at which point I hung up as it has nothing to do with me. I then tried ringing the local number which displayed but the number was not recognised.

When I first answered phone, extremely loud background noise (sounded like a railway station). Indian accented mail asked for Mrs ***. When I asked what it was about he said it was about my internet connection. I started to tell him I had no problems with my internet connection, but he hung up before I finished the sentence! Knew he was rumbled I suspect.

This is the UK version of a scam running amok in the US. The supposed company, microsoftechs.com, contacts people and claims there is an issue with their computer. The claim to be partnered with Microsoft and gain confidence with all the classic scam talk. If you do get scammed, they will access your computer via remote access, go through your email, install software and who knows what else. I was called by this number and feel concerned that it maybe a scammer: the message - delivered in synthetic speech claimed to be from HMRC and said tax fraud had been committed in my name and I needed to press 1 immediately or I would be arrested for fraud. I did not press 1. I hung up and searched the number but have not seen any negative reports yet.

It's a fraud scam. They've somehow got a list of people who have purchased white goods and they're calling them to tell them the warranty has expired. I told him to fuck off and put the phone down as they were clearly trying to get me to pay for a new insurance policy when I blatantly didn't.
