Please check the number and try again' so whoever it is, is obviously using a spoof service to attempt to scam people. If they wasn't trying to scam people, then they would have a legit phone number!

Had 3 calls over the last few days from various numbers all starting with the same dalling code, 01926. As this is the code where we live, answered the first call - no immediate response but after a few seconds, over a very crackly line, what sounded like a well spoken middle aged white lady, said something along the lines of 'suspicious transactions on my account, one for £300 odd & the other for £1,400 odd & I must do certain things at which point I hung up. Stated they were from tge local housing association and they were running a project to bring all tenners properties up to spec. He wanted to get someone there to conduct repairs. I own my property which came as a surprise to him. I wonder who would have turned up at my door if I had fallen for this ruse. Be Warned....SCAM
