Have previously had about three missed calls from this number - just picked up the latest call and they informed me that I d had a car accident at some point since July 2010 - I have never had a car accident, thank goodness. I asked them where they got this information from - they said they purchased these details from a company and had got them as I had registered the accident but hadn t claimed anything. SCAM recorded voice claims the call is from BT Internet to say that there has been suspicious activity on my account. Invites me to press 1 to talk "To an Executive to resolve the issue". Didn’t respond to the message as I researched the number first and read a previous comment which suggested it’s a scam. I was suspicious as it’s just from a Mobile number and I have not logged in to any venues?

I was phoned by an automated caller, saying my NI number had appeared in recent criminal activity and needed to ‘press1’ to speak to an officer before I was arrested and my assets seized. I hung up immediately.

Said he was from Domestic and General asked for my name, and then said he could not hear me could I give it again which I did. I had cancelled a insurance with D & G and thought they were ring to make me change my name. He then asked for the first name of my address and post code, and again said he couldn t hear me and asked me to repeat it again. This is when I got suspicious and hung up. I rang D & G and they apparently do not keep a record of outgoing cals.
This number called twice. I answered both times but no-one spoke. As the no. didn t correspond to any in my address book, I checked it out with you. Will now block number but concerned as to how they got my number in the first place, and hope they are not able to access my contact details in the phone.
