Accident claim scam. I m registered for the Telephone Preference Service and yet they still called, so they re acting illegally.

had a call about us having a voucher from the company re new windows. When told we were not interested and rang off, they rang again about five minutes later and requested coming to visit us. Was told we did not want a visit, they were to post the voucher to us.

Tried to sell me loft insulation, told he I ve got recently on a grant. Then went onto cavity wall insulation,, can t have that done, not got proper cavity walls. Then tried to sell me external cladding insulation. Told her to sod off and I would be reporting the call as a nuisance. She then went on to try and sell me a new gas boiler.

Checked number elsewhere as no comments here. Some say British gas (number on their website) re smart meters, some say call disconnected if you ask questions, some say messages received like from aliens...? I don t know but would like to bar these calls. Going for 5 as not sure what it really is!

Other practices at Link Financial Outsourcing Ltd which need looking at is their contempt for the Data Protection Act. When Link contact you they might ask you to give them a reference number which they have previously left on your answering machine. The fact that anyone with access to your phone also has this information invalidates it as a security question. Other security questions might be to ask you for your date of birth. This is a naughty one. Someone is using the Motor Insurance Bureau s number to hide their identity. The MIB is the body that coordinates motor vehicle claims in the U.K. If you have not had a vehicle accident don t answer it, or at least ring back later, if you want to.

Had a missed call (Chose not to answer) from this number this morning. I don t know anyone in Birmingham so thinking it might be a cold call.

I managed to keep this caller on the line for about 10 minutes. I was told they were to help with Windows problems. I asked for an address and was given 15 Victoria Street London. The helpline number is 0800 031 4414. The first person was female with a foreign accent and mentioned Las Vegas USA then South East Asia and India when I asked where their base was. I have received several Phone calls from this company. stating I have had a car accident, and they would deal with it for me. I have not had a motor vehicle for 5 years, when told this they still want to proceed with a claim.
