Just to confirm, after my previous post I reported this number to the police, who said it definitely is a scam, and that Microsoft would never call you about this sort of thing. These people will generally want remote access to your computer to "fix a virus" or something like that. They show you some files that they know every computer has and tell you they re harmful, which is completely untrue. They then use the remote access to steal from you. DON’T ring these numbers back or you may get caught for a huge phone charge.

Answered this but left a delay before saying 'hello' and they rang off. Assume that it's a spam number using an automated dialling gadget.
