Some guy called John and he even knew my first and last name. :-( Had received my contact details a few months ago from someone is what he said. Spoke proper English but fast. I am also from Belgium.

Had a call claiming to be HMRC saying I've committed tax fraud and that action was being taken against me. I was told to press 1 to find out more so I hung up as I have read somewhere that as soon as you press a number, your phone can be hacked or something bad like that. I know for a fact that I haven't committed tax fraud and I don't think HMRC would phone. They usually send letters in the first instance. Therefore I'm flagging this up as dangerous.

SCAM - HMRC NI PHONE SCAM

This seems to be a scam, someone pretending to be someone's child, saying 'Hi Mum, this is my new number. My phone doesn't turn on on anymore so now you can text and call me on this number'. My child would not write like this. Please be aware.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 015063077xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with accident chasers - car accidents, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems) People did they call you with the same or something new?

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8438727xxx range (I use the app from these pages, no problems)... People did someone answer this number?
