This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8438727xxx range (I use the app from these pages, no problems)... People did someone answer this number?

They called me telling me they were EE and told me from my records they could see I was using over my package in data which was correct. Someone called from this number to ask me about my workplace pension, they knew I was no longer paying into it, and that I had been paying in for around 5 years, maybe some of these were guesses, but foolishly I agreed to speak to one of their advisers . HMRC called twice on 1/2/18 I was aware of it being a scam as it was reported in the Sun Newspaper and on the news that day.
