They do announce themselves to contact customers on behalf of EON and are not actually EON.I am sure eon knows about it despite they deny they use such call centres. I don't know anyone in that area. It was a random call which I didn't answer. It can only be an attempted scam.
Fraud - Indian Amazon scammers, claim there to be a purchase made on an amazon account. They hang up when asked to provide proof, or give plausable details.
Some one from social housing, re repairs. (some one had given them my number) 200 mile from them.

This was from a rude and abusive man with very poor English who claimed he was from carphone warehouse and when I said I wasn't interested he said he was also a police officer and was going to find out where I lived and beat me up, he was screaming abuse at me. This was entirely unprovoked as I am a very polite pensioner who never shouts and swears, I would recommend everyone to do as I have done and block this number.

I had a call from this number this morning at 10.49 (approx) and a recorded message came which told me that my Visa card had been used by someone for £900. I didn't bother to listen to the whole message as it was obvious to me that it was a scam. Interestingly I waited a few minutes and then called the number back (which I don't usually bother to do) and a very nice lady answered who said that she ran a clinic. It became obvious that she was genuine and that the scammers had used her number.

This is to harvest people’s voice related to your phone number and location for database. All done in a nano second by AI software. Someone wants to know where you are and that it is you answering the phone. That is why you get these calls several times daily even if you have told you are not interested.

Get a call from them every few days, consistent script: "We're calling from the Legal Department of MAUK" (there is a website for mauk.uk but no listing in Companies House, and the directory for the building in Reading they claim to be in doesn't include any such entity). I keep reporting the calls to ICO and TPS. You'd think the imbeciles would give up - it's been going on for years.

Fraud American accent, pre-recorded message saying it was HMRC and there was a problem with my tax record. Told me that in order to avoid jail I needed to sort this out immediately and had to press 1 to be put through to an advisor. Potentially very threatening for anyone who didn’t recognise it as a scam. Google search reveals that if I had pressed 1 my call might have been rerouted to a different country and I could have faced hefty phone charges.

Insurance This number is apparently from a Company called "Review your Policy" - I have been registered for many years with the TPS register which I understand telemarketing are obliged to check every 30 days to ensure the numbers they are ringing are not on this register - the young lady calling was not interested in engaging or apologising for unwanted call.
