21 After attempting to make an online payment on a Halifax credit card while in the Philippines, the transaction was declined even before the bank's usual verification SMS message. To cut a long story short enough to fit the character liimit, this is not the Halifax, despite websites that say it is. The website I tried to pay was hacked and my payment was intercepted even before the bank could be contacted. THE SOPHISTICATION OF SCAMMERS IS NOW AT AN EPIDEMIC LEVEL. Don't be fooled.

Unsure, they asked me to confirm some details which are about 10 years out of date and hung up when I said I didn't want to answer their questions. I couldn't understand the caller, very strong Indian accent and I believe they said they were calling from something Assist (but I couldn't hear very well and the line was bad quality too).

Not wanted

Received call in UK this afternoon 0208 089 2348 (a London number). The call cleared down as soon as I picked up call. As I was expecting a call from London I called the number back. An automatic voice said, subscriber has temporarily suspended incoming calls, please try later. Clearly not a genuine caller - am going to block

A foreign sounding person in a supposed call center called today at 11 minutes past eight asking about my computer concerning an up grade. I have been caught before on this so I put the phone down . this is a SCAM do not be taken in by it .

Received a call stating from British Gas with regards to my boiler cover. Advised that I will be covered for £22 a month and asked for my sortcode and account number. They also advised that if I had any issues with my boiler I should call the freephone number which was 01202 138 752. When I advised them that I work for British Gas Services which I do they hung up. I tried the "freephone" number but this related to another company which has nothing to do with boilers or anything to do with British
