as with "fedup", our phone number is also ex-directory but has been given to various companies when requested. have received several calls over last few weeks. As nothing is said on these calls, I would suspect anyone making them to be untrustworthy or making the calls as nuisance callers otherwise they would at least make an attempt to speak.
Call centre - much background noise and poor English so I could not make out the somewhat long name of the company he claimed to represent. Caller offered me a free stay in Dubai, which I declined and hung up.
Caller hangs up immediately.

I answered line went dead, I called them back, I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then the line disconnected.
I go to a phone call and the lady said she was from o2 however when I told her I was at college and couldn't really talk she because really rude and said "you don't have time to answer a few quick questions but you had time to answer your phone" I got suspicious and hung up they wouldn't stop calling me after so I ended up blocking the number.
This was the recorded message I get from these crooks two or three times a week using different numbers. It begins with "Dear Customer". Apart from being a harassment, it would be dangerous to respond. If I thought I had a claim I would make it myself. These people should not be touched with a bargepole, except by the law.

I think this is a scam. Reported to police. Police ref. no. 1079 - 26.11.2012. Caller name - Eric Bensons Widow Solution Technical Dept. Said there was a problem with my computer.
Claimed to be from some made-up agency and advising that there had been fraudulent activity relating to my National Insurance Number "on the northern border of Wales"....
