Posted ad on gumtree and got a call almost immediately which my phone flagged as scam or fraud so I ignored it.
Got Lloyds bank text saying they will SMS about my card then this no texted to ask about a transaction with yes or no. Said no as not done then got replied back to call on a no. Which I checked first then called and was lloyds bank fraud line. Found there was 3 unknown transaction done today which I confirmed and they said they will chase this and cancel and send new card. Always good to precheck. From checking here, it seems to be from some other banks too.

I received a text message (on my mobile) apparently from TalkTalk confirming the date for an engineers visit. As I hadn't booked a call, I rang from a withheld number to cancel the booking. I was kept hanging on the phone by the operator who told me my account had been locked by the previous operator and she couldn't access the details. Called claiming to be from virgin media. Asked to press ctrl and r on your computer. This is the start of the process to allow remote access. I'm aware of someone who did this and then had an attempt to have internet banking set up. Someone else had their bank account emptied after doing what they asked. I told them I wasn't prepared to do anything as was aware of scams from people claiming to be calling from virgin media. They hung up straightaway then.

Knowing you've probably muted the call with the intention of putting your phone to silent when they eventually abandon the call they'll immediately radial so you cant do this, to annoy you again, which is a bit controlling. Despite telling them you've started a new job, they continue to pester you every month.
