SCAM- 0128 240981 I've been bombarded by calls from similar 0128 numbers for past couple weeks. I finally answered this one today (28th October) and it was a lady with an oversees accent with echoey background noise saying she was from the National Debtline. She knew my name and kept asking me to confirm it but I didn't and I kept asking who she was then hung up when she said she was from the debtline. They don't cold call you and it's a totally different number so I blocked it.

This company are scammers, they place duplicate orders with suppliers, and attempt to use the payment for one on all the orders. They are abrasive and deceitful.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Everyone should be doing the same, as once you answer they know you line is active, they will then sell you number to other company s. Had a call from this number today (06/02/2020). I didn t answer, but just sharing what I discovered when attempting to identify the caller. Several directories show this as a number related to a recruitment company named Catch Recruitment. Hope this helps :)
