Let them ramble on for a bit; apparently I could be owed thousands in PPI claims, which they would chase for me for only 30% of it. For reassurance they gave me a different callback number to the one that had rung on my mobile, then asked if I would speak to my bank and request PPI information on their behalf while they kept me on hold. Original call number came in as V21309255500012, when picked up and answered, no response, just silence. After hanging up, hit CID button (caller ID) and the new number was revealed as 1-778-555-0161, a number from British Vancouver.
Repeated nuisance calls about "an accident that was not your fault".

SCAM!!Got an email under the pretence that it was my boss! It then asked me to go out and buy 10 copies of £100 gift cards (£1000 total) as presents for the staff. When I asked about payment he proceeded to ask me to pay for it out of my own cash and I would be reimbursed. I told him I didn’t have that kind of money lying about and he told me to just get what I could. He was also VERY insistent on this being a secret surprise. SCAM Fraud BEWARE ! This number has only recently appeared on this site (August 2023) from other people checking. Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. This number and the previous numbers used are allocated to etctelecom ltd so they may be behind these calls or could do something about them. Try complaining via their website http://etctelecom.co.uk/contact/. Also obviously complain to the ICO also as they do not appear to have enough yet.
Does relate to an account setup. It s a company relates to crypto and it s a courtesy call. Caller is actually in Cyprus not London Dodgy number but thanks BT for allowing such things legal but misleading. Call genuine.

I believe this is due to previous calls when I have kept them on the line for 30 mins plus pretending to check my computer and blocking their attempts to try and do anything before informing them I have scammed them and dont actually have a computer.. and laughing loudly as they terminate the call with some abuse.. idiots
