The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. This no. Claiming to be Barclays fraud has called me daily and the calls are getting earlier which is annoying as I am being woken up from my sleep. Why don’t they get the message not to call me if I am Not responding to them? I expect it to be genuine if my bank wrote to me first.

SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND This was a recorded message saying two potentially unauthorised payments had been made on my card - one of £300 and an international payment of £1,000 - followed by the option of approving the payments or speaking to someone about them. This sounded like a scam ( there was no mention of which bank the call was from), and so it turned out to be when I checked with the bank.

This number rang my Mobile which is only know to a few people. I was told it was HMRC and if i didn't send some paper work i would be liable to prosecution. Told to press option one to speak to some one did so and the person on the end said something like thank you for calling !!!! didn't understand the last bit. I commented I didn't call you did, it then went quiet. I hung up. Both voices were certainly not UK English in speakers. Don't trust this phone number think it's a scam
