I asked for an FCA reference number and was asked why I need that, so I explained that if she was who she said she was then she would understand. I did not know I was being charged extra, I don’t even know why I started to receive text from this 88222 number. My monthly phone bill is normally £45 per month unlimited talk and text and 4gb data. Last month my bill was slightly higher, this month my bill went to £89 pounds all because I was receiving messages from the number 88222. I had to send STOP to prevent further higher bills.

They called me yesterday to say there was a government scheme to help me with my debts, when asked if I had any debts, mortgage, loans or credit cards, I answered no, I have no debts whatsoever, they said, well good luck to that and bye, hung up. they then called back again today at about 5pm, I answered but they immediately hung up on me, to me, this smells like a scam caller, why would they call me again when I told them I have nothing!
scammers, claimed they knew I was in an accident but I haven't been in one. Played along and they agreed with me that they had the same accident details that I was making up. Terminated call so no idea where it was leading. Believe this is connected to phone numbers 020 3000 7916 and 0161 814 3982 who are identical scammers
