Received a text saying attempts to set up DD to gumtree for £1200- It appeared to come from the 'normal' Barclays text account. Tried the number, and was held in a queue.. so I rang off. And phoned Barclays - they confirmed it was not their number. They also pointed me in the direction of "Barclays Number checker" website. Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls - surveys, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8432632xxx range... People don't fall for it. Did someone answer any number of this range?
