SCAM - HMRC Scam. Called me this morning and I let it go to voicemail due to unknown number. Replayed the message and automated robot voice telling me that I better contact HMRC via their number or "face the legal consequences". Classic scumbo's trying it on. HMRC will write to you officially or contact your accountant for any issues. If in doubt, call your local HMRC offices and discuss with them directly.
Recorded message purporting to be from Santander Bank for someone who no longer lives at our address. Asked for a key to be pressed to continue. I hung up.

Sevaral calls over the past week, silent call. I phone back as I thought it was a cusomer but it was recorded message about Motor Assist or something similar. Called again today, my wife answered they said I had been involved in a accident. I was out in my van at the time so my wife was a bit worried. It is not a landline number but a Broadband line number which has an area code to look like a landline number.

The guy on the other end said something about being from the Football pools company, so I m sure it was Vernons like someone else had reported (they likely have my number from joining their casino ages back I can only assume) Since I haven t used them in years no idea why they are calling since I ve never done the Football pools EVER and have no plans to!
