They threatened me with arrest and then asked me for my name and my insurance number, When I said I wouldn't give it to them and would present myself to a precinct instead they hung up on me.

Woman calls claiming I have recently been the victim of a car accident which is a miracle as I don t drive. Hung up as soon as she said that but she first identified herself as being from Adept Consulting - I actually have a real client with the same business name which is why I carried on the call! I m ashamed to say that I worked for Ben Reynolds for a short time back in 2012 when his company was called Crown Lawyers. Same story as these, he d get us to find people with debts, take a fee from them and then cut off all contact with them. Supposedly we d get a commission for every job taken on, but he d tell us that the person had decided not to go ahead with recovering their debt and so we got nothing. We then found out that they had agreed to pursue the debt and Ben just wanted to avoid paying us

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.

Had the same call today, I find this really annoying as I am on the TPS, so am not supposed receive unsolicited cold calls.
I have the TruCaller App (Free version) it notifies you of scams, etc before you answer. I will be using this on my new phone, it s a great little App and instantly told me this was a PPI scam. I recommend this App to anyone, and I blocked this number straight away. All numbers TruCaller checks against a huge database of Blaclisted phone numbers.
