Unknown caller from Manchester and they never left a message on my answerphone so it must be a scam. It will now be blocked liked a large number of calls recently from 0161 area.

This was an automated call advising I had suspected fraud on my accounts. Gave 2 transactions and was asked to press 1 to accept 2 to decline. I put the phone down and called the bank. It wasn’t them! Please just put the phone down on this number and don’t press any buttons
This number keeps calling me, I block it and I get a called from a similar number with one of the last four digits changed.

He apologised & hung up. Very amiable, & I was polite too :) Only use my landline for emergencies so any call to it arouses my suspicions!

Didn't pick up as an unknown number and our landline is ex-directory known only to 2 other people as it is used only for elderly relatives to call who do not have mobile phones. The fact that this number is not listed anywhere and we do not use it ourselves would tend to indicate it is a spam or pfishing call.
This was a very frightning scam call, saying that amounts of something like £300 and £1100 had been debited to my card - they didn't say which - and to ring a certain number etc etc Dangerous and number now blocked.

They are scammers pretending to be Virgin media. They claim that your internet box has been compromised because of suspect malware and then pretend that they want to compensate you by putting money into your bank account, but really they try and take money out of your account. They are Asians and the number emanates from Orpington Kent.

I just got a call claiming (falsely) to be from this number, claiming (again falsely) that it was BT Openreach (or something). When I politely declined, the caller said (as they hung up) "Fuck you, fuck you in the face". Which may well have been the only genuine thing about the call. SCAM - somebody called to ask to speak to my husband regarding his business account with British Gas. When I asked them to contact my husband's business directly they stated that the only number they had (which is our home number). They gave me a reference number and asked if my husband could call them. It all sounded very plausible - please be aware.
