I know it was the Bank of Scotland as they were calling me about a specific query on my account, I had emailed them yesterday.... no cold calling, no upselling of products. just customer service.

Caller purported as acting as 3rd party for a Finance Company which I have just used (so far so good). They are a credit card company who ring u when you have missed a payment.

Ringing 3 times a day over ebay fees not paid due to a dispute. Had settled matter with ebay directly before the calls started. Good thing iphones have a block number facility :)

Called today said he was Steve from TalkTalk and my internet connection was about to be shut off for 15 days. He would send a new router and cable to avoid this. He was about to ask me to follow instructions to re-set router, etc when I asked for proof he was from TalkTalk. He hung up! Funny though, we are actually in talks with TalkTalk about a new router and seem to get scam calls right after we speak to them!

Disgusted at Greenpeace, I have donated for years and every year they wanted more money.
