Guy called Travis Smith from BT Technical dept called (but he was clearly an Indian!!!) said I would be disconnected for 23 days within the hour if I didn't perform the following checks. When I asked what would have happened if I didn't answer the call he didn't clearly answer the question. There is now no doubt in my mind now that this was a scam as I do not believe BT would contact me in this way & it is now well past the hour & I am still connected..... I when along with the charade of the call and got through to a 'supervisor' who spoke to me by name. That was when I unleashed my tirade of abuse - f and c words. It always does the trick - they soon go away. Its very cathartic - I recommend it.

Called. Asked for the MD by first name as it they were mates. Nope. Offered to take a message. Nope. I'll call him on his mobile then... Could I give him the mobile number (Nope). Then said he'd email him. Could I give his email address (Nope). Said he was welcome to use our "sales@" email address, but wanted to send to me, personally (Nope). Was probably only to see if we wanted to switch electric supplier... Yawn.

Persistent caller, usually followed by a call from a withheld number. Tried answering the follow up call and they hung up on me.

Received call from this local area code (Huddersfield) and chose not to answer until I'd checked for ratings on the number, which turned out to be neutral. Called me again the following day, chose to answer and a polite lady speaking good English started by asking how my day was, what the weather was like here in the UK, she's sitting there in an office in Morocco and the weather is beautiful.....! So from Morocco they are managing to call through a local UK area code which you are more likely to answer. D
