Called claiming to be from virgin media. Asked to press ctrl and r on your computer. This is the start of the process to allow remote access. I'm aware of someone who did this and then had an attempt to have internet banking set up. Someone else had their bank account emptied after doing what they asked. I told them I wasn't prepared to do anything as was aware of scams from people claiming to be calling from virgin media. They hung up straightaway then.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 16233404xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with funeral plans, surveys, insurance marketing, accident claims, PPI. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

SCAM - automated call alleging to be from Amazon about my £390odd purchase of a i-phone - No reason that a) Amazon would have this number and b) None of my immediate family would buy ANY Apple product
SPAM. Nigel Frank recruitment these folk call your mobile usually during work meeting times (9-10) and think it's acceptable to keep your phone ringing for 30sec. Knowing you've probably muted the call with the intention of putting your phone to silent when they eventually abandon the call they'll immediately radial so you cant do this, to annoy you again, which is a bit controlling. Despite telling them you've started a new job, they continue to pester you every month.
