Claiming to be a hmrc government worker
I have had a call from this number as I do not know it I let the answering machine get it, as soon as the announcement started the caller hung up. When I dialled the number back using 141 to block my own number the call was not picked up. I suspect a call centre of some form possibly phishing. Also had a missed call from 02089022545 which I assume is the same outfit. If genuine reason for call, why not leave a message?

No longer do I speak when I answer a number not familiar. If it's a cold call, they will speak first. If it's someone who knows me, they will speak if I don't. This one just hung up, so I can deduce it was an unsolicited and unwanted call and blocked them.

It worryingly coincides with DAILY Phishing e mails for past 3/4 months reported to report@phishing/ICO and Microsoft. SCAM!!! We had a ‘New Customer’ approach us and ask for a quote so we sent over a New Customer form to make sure we could offer a credit facility. They filled in the details of a reputable company so passed the credit check. However, when it came to payment due date, the phone number they provided no longer works and emails are coming back with an automatic reply each time from various different email addresses. I have searched each of these email addresses and they show up on a few scam websites.

Asian woman said her name was Carol (as if) told me I lived at a house I moved from in 2015. Asked who I had life insurance with and started arguing with me when I told her that's none of her business. She kept repeating aviva, bupa, sunlife is your life insurance with those. I kept saying its nothing to do with you. Then she hung up.

I had missed call on my mobile. I phoned the number from a land-line, and at first there was no answer. It went straight to Vodafone answerphone. I phoned a second time, and a man with a foreign accent answered. I asked who it was but he just said "You phoned me!" He then asked what company I was phoning from. He was quite rude and abrupt.
