"A peter gomes" called from this number saying he was from BT technical support and that my IP address had been hacked. He wanted me to go online so he could show me how to do it. I took his details then said I would call back - this sounds like a scam

There are few similar numbers reported by more people (or searched on these pages) so I assume they all belong to the same call centre - 0203 695 3 806, 0203 695 3 265, 0203 695 3 242 - note that only the last two/three digits alternate, which is common for call centres to have some range of numbers dedicated for their business. Have caller ID and didn't recognise the number so it went straight to ansafone. No message left and ìt's from a village in Somerset. Don't know anyone from there so it could be marketing or scam.
First call was number withheld and left voicemail "you have an important call about your free lottery ticket. Please press 1 to receive the call". Next day called again displaying number 0203 769 5758, once again let it go to voicemail and the same message was left. Caller now blocked on my iPhone. Free lottery ticket - I suspect not. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!
