This is a naughty one. Someone is using the Motor Insurance Bureau s number to hide their identity. The MIB is the body that coordinates motor vehicle claims in the U.K. If you have not had a vehicle accident don t answer it, or at least ring back later, if you want to.

I managed to keep this caller on the line for about 10 minutes. I was told they were to help with Windows problems. I asked for an address and was given 15 Victoria Street London. The helpline number is 0800 031 4414. The first person was female with a foreign accent and mentioned Las Vegas USA then South East Asia and India when I asked where their base was. Received call from busy overseas call centre claiming to be BT. When I pointed out that yesterdays call was reported as a fraud to the police she hung up. Yesterdays call exactly same script but from 01724956685 they are hacking into or falsely generating a UK number. It is the role of BT to put a stop to this nonsense?
