SCAM I had a phone call from 020 8298 3548 at 3:01pm this afternoon on Thursday 25th February 2021. It was an automated message saying that I had an outstanding balance and an arrest warrant was issued for my arrest and I should press 1 to speak to a representative about it. This is an absolute scam, do NOT call or press 1.
left a 2 minute silent voicemail! Very professional - NOT!
HMRC automated voice claiming i have committed fraud action and there is an arrest warrant.... press 1....
Had a few calls from this number, that just hang up when answered. Can hear talking the background. No idea what/who.

The call from this number was a scam purporting to come from Visa credit cards.
I answered this number> Caller asked to speak to homeowner - I said "This is an unsolicited call and I don t accept them - take my name off your list please." caller said "okay, thank you"and put phone down - rings regularly and no-one there when I pick up - hope this is the end- so annoying.

I'm not sure about this call at all, he said his name was Alex (but I can't remember the name of the company he was calling from). He kept asking me to repeat my answers - even if it was a simple yes or no, I didn't repeat, I just asked him a question - this only happened twice before he hung up on me. I've read that there are some scams where the called attempts to get you to say some key words to record them. I don't know if this was one of those calls - but he did give up really quickly. Are based in Scotland with no known office in 01305 exchange area. Have calls from Scotland re-routed through local exchange numbers in order to persuade people to answer a local number. If you call it back, then the call is again re-routed back to their Scotland office. Not sure if this is an illegal practice under telephony legislation, but would be interested if anyone can come up with the legislation about having calls re-routed to give the answering CLI the impression that the call is local.
