SPAM answered waiting for minute before they actually speak. asking for someone called mr/mrs thomas, and wanting to ask questions about household!? I asked if they were aware of the telephone preference service (which my number has been registered for over two months ago), no answer. when asked who they are, they said just a company called 'preferential', but when asked for company number and more details they said their goodbye and hung up on me. have a glut of similar spam numbers so clearly all same
This is obviously a scam - claiming to be from btinternet. They reckon I have a problem with my btinternet (I don't have btinternet). After stringing him along for a few minutes, the caller became rude and hung up!

Had a call today from a man claiming to be Windows who said that my computer had automatically informed him of a fault. Sensing this was a scam, I persisted in asking for a name (none was given apart from windows , and an explanation of what the error code was that he was claiming to get from my computer.
