This is now the Twentyieth call asking for Mr Herman, who is not me. It also comes on another number 01618149030 asking the same question, in both cases it is from the North of England hence Bolton and Manchester. Pain in the butt!!.

Was "we have news about PPI" - I politely said I weren t interested and the girl tutted an hung up. HOW RUDE when I took time out to answer your mithering call and I remained polite. Appalling

Was called today around 15:00, they hung up after 4 rings, no message.

I had a call from the above number saying I owe money would not tell me the company very aggresive.

Sham about being entered into a draw to win some vouchers for 2mins of your time.

I have the TruCaller App (Free version) it notifies you of scams, etc before you answer. I will be using this on my new phone, it s a great little App and instantly told me this was a PPI scam. I recommend this App to anyone, and I blocked this number straight away. All numbers TruCaller checks against a huge database of Blaclisted phone numbers.

Automated voice claiming to be from inland revenue (not HMRC). Obviously a scam call, now blocked.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. They estimate readings and send someone over to check for themselves. Southern Electric have made a note of this number. I advis

I would like to second Mo s comment above which turned out to be Vanquis also hounding me for a payment. Bit sneaky of them using a local area code knowing there would be more chance it would be answered!

I got this call today and decided to look it up to find these comments. I never answer my mobile to numbers I Dont know, if it s important they will leave a answer message. Everyone should be doing the same, as once you answer they know you line is active, they will then sell you number to other company s. I used to get at least 7 a day from different numbers but now only recieve 1, most days I don t get any anymore.
