Automated message purportedly from VISA about a £600 debit on my account about 10.17am Mon 15 Mar, 2021. Their phone number (sourced from 1471) shares the same first 8 digits with two numbers featured on this site: 211 and 212. This implies that the company behind this scam has purchased a string of phone numbers. Surely, it can't be beyond the wit of the authorities to close them down.

Recorded voice (Sounded like an angry Siri) stating from HMRC and was named in a serious fraud investigation and if I didn't press "1" on my keypad then I would be arrested immediately. It actually made me laugh out loud. Hang on, there's a knock at the door.......... :)

It s an automatic reminder of clinic appointments, 7 days before they re due. I get similar thing from my dentist. You can reply with STOP to opt out but I don t think it s a bad idea - my appointments are months apart.
SCAM - didn't recognise the number so I rejected it.. Straightaway I had an electronic voice mail advising it was HRMC and I needed to call them back other wise I would need a solicitor and face legal proceedings. They obviously think I was born yesterday!

I was called by this number and feel concerned that it maybe a scammer: the message - delivered in synthetic speech claimed to be from HMRC and said tax fraud had been committed in my name and I needed to press 1 immediately or I would be arrested for fraud. I did not press 1. I hung up and searched the number but have not seen any negative reports yet.
