Purporting to be HMRC investigating tax fraud involving me. "Press 1 immediately. If you do not comply, you will be arrested and taken into custody".
A company called PPI Checker also uses this phone number. It shows as international. I asked the company name, which they gave and they also gave me their phone number!! but when I asked for their address, they put the phone down.

SCAM / SPAM Said to be Openreach investigating slow broadband speeds in the area and wanted me to switch on computer, as if that was going to happen. If had a couple of similar calls from this area code.
This is Smith Glass in Basildon, they constantly call me trying to sell Double Glazing, even though on numerous times I f have them I am not interested and need to remove me from their database. Last time I spoke to them the chav on the end of the marketing line was aggressive.

Answered call and a young man asked to speak with me by name in regard to private pensions, when he found that I was already retired & receiving a state pension, he said sorry for troubling me and ended the call.

I ve had this number call me several times. Sometimes they have hung up before I can answer, sometimes it is late at night!!!!! If you are in a Union which is related to the Labour party, i.e Unite and it is Corbyn and his mates, I guess this is where you money is going!! I never have voted for you, and never will!

This is a company which books free home assessments for damp (rising, penetrating, leaks, condensation) and issues caused by insulation previously installed under a freebie government scheme. They use a dialler to make contact and do not charge for their service. If you agree to have a surveyor visit your home they are polite and helpful. Their home assessment is free of charge. If they identify an issue they bring it to you attention. They then compare your home's issue with previous case studies.

SCAM INTERNET Person claimed to be BT Openreach saying internet connection problem. Required list of devices in the house and access to computer. I have reported it.
Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

Caller asked for someone else who lives in the house by name - after teh ususal telemarketing pause of silence..... When I explained they were not in and asked if I could take a message, the caller sounded annoyed that the person he called for was not in, and then HE HUNG UP. . Cold caller? Telemarketer?
