My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. This woman with a very liverpudlian accent rang me today said she was ringing about a RTA I had and ringing to help. When I said it had been sorted and please take my number off your database and stop ringing me it was in 2013. She was so abusive and ended in if you keep your hair on a minute I may take it off. When I rang back to complain the answer says , this number is not in service. Scum just scum speaking to people like this. I am so angry I want to find out who they are.

I have calls from this number nearly every day when I don t answer they call my mobile straight away, I did answer one day and told them to stop calling but they don t listen so I just let it ring then answer machine comes on they don t leave any message but it s just cost them the price of a call. So anyone having calls from this number just hang up and don t be fooled by their soft talk and don t give them any of your bank card details as its all a scam. Hope this helps other people.
Fraud - this was an automated call supposedly from HMRC, which said that there was a tax fraud case in my name and unless I pressed 1 and speak to the officer overseeing the case. If I didn't, there would be a warrant issued and I would be arrested shortly. This is disgusting - what if it had gone to a vulnerable or confused person. It didn't mention my name, but if someone is frightened enough that will not register.
