SCAM / SPAM: Automated voice claiming to be HMRC opening up a fraud investigation
4th March 2022 Called on my friends phone but hung up when I answered. My friend died three months ago and as executer for his estate I have his phone. Call log shows they also called on 22nd Feb 2022 but no message left so the number has been active for at least two weeks.

When I dialled the number it went straight to a voicemail asking me to record a message. Have blocked the number.

SCAM / SPAM I received an automated voice call from this number at 12:31, supposedly from Amazon Prime informing me that over £70 had been deducted for my membership and I should press "1" to speak to someone to discuss this. I hung up. I am not a member of Amazon Prime and have had calls like this before. I expect if I had spoken to someone, they would have asked for my bank account details so they could cancel it.

Yet, another Solar Panel caller wanting to test our solar panels. Nothing more than a scam caller and told them so, if your panels are working, you can tell by the read outs and feed in tariff! If there is a fault, they wont work, if they are down and not working properly the read outs will tell you. The say they are employed to test the panels free of charge, all they will do is test and say your system can be improved. Be warned!

They are based on wharf industrial estate in bury, Manchester and Blackburn. The staff who call have no idea, nor choice of who they ring as the system selects a number at random from their data, and only when the line opens do they see your name and address etc. They are legitimate in terms of what they are offering (a free hearing frequency test at your local football club/hotel) however, if you will receive any money should a claim be successful is questionable. Missed call from 07529631402 on my 'spare' phone that I only use for online word games and whose number I have only given to O2 during a top-up to maintain the £5 monthly bundle. No one else should know the phone number, unless it has been recycled from a while ago (who knows how long that might be?) or the call may have originated from a phone dialler which was just workjng its way through a sequence.
