Called my landline claiming to be from Smiley Broadband and could save me money on my landline and broadband. Asked how long they had been trading as I've never heard of them. Guy said that they were based in Luton and had been trading for 20 years. Declined the offer and hung up.
Over the past 4 days I have been called by this number 7 times. haven t answered once but they keep trying.

SCAM Call center Purported to be from British Gas. I had difficulty understanding what he was trying to tell me because of a strong accent, but he was suggesting a problem with my boiler thermostat? Then went on to talk about a maintenance contract to cover the boiler, radiators and electrical supply. I queried several times about his genuine employment by British Gas and he finally hung up the phone.

As far as I am concerned all phone callers are potential con artist so I very rarely answer my phone these days. Call from "CCN" apparently my details passed by MIB. Could not answer how or why my details were passed nor what the alleged "incident" related to or when it supposedly occurred. When I repeatedly asked for clarification, and said that if they could not answer my questions they should remove my details and never contact me again, they hung up. SCAM - Just had a call saying they were contacting me about upgrading my phone, so I wasn't best pleased about being disturbed when I'm not feeling well with a very heavy cold. I knew it was a scam straight away as there was no link to my existing provider, so I informed the caller of that and told him to "Bu**er off"! Suggest others do the same.
