My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. PPI, as soon as you block they just call on another number, comes up as Leeds, Macclesfield, Runcorn I didn t think companies were allowed to pass on your details after GDPR came in so would be interested to know how these companies still get our details
