18 Oct 2021 - Received a call from this number stating that they are from HMRC but it’s some robot talking so I pressed 1 to see where they are calling from. A woman answered stating she’s from HMRC couldn’t give me anymore detail, then kept asking for my name when I was called from them? So surely they should know my name. This is a scamming company posing as Barclays. I received a text from them saying a transfer of £4000 was attempted from my account and that I need to call them asap if I didn't authorise the transfer. You will know this is a scam as they won't address you by the name on your account

Introduced himself as Peter from Telephone Preference Service. Asked if I was getting nuisance calls? So I told him he was one. But Peter continued unabashed and asked again and said I needed to register to stop these calls. So this time I said I did not want to stop them as I enjoyed the conversation. He asked if I didn't want to have them stop. But I again repeated that I liked them. This succeeded in confusing him immensely and he could not think what to say - haha Basically a complete scam - beware.
