The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. Received this morning on my mobile. A female voice, probably recorded said "I have been told that you were involved in an accident recently, is that right?" Obviously this a phishing call. Best to ignore and hang up.

I am pretty sure this number is a scam number trying to make contact over an apparent bank transaction. It is bogus. I would block this number.
