Claimed to be from National Insurance Bureau and that I had been in an accident and I had ?3-4K to come as compensation. Foreign accent very difficult to understand. Very insistent bordering on unpleasant. Was on Gumtree yesterday posting an ad, sounds likely from other comments that they got my number from there.
Woman with bad English reading from a script. Said she was from british gas and wanted us to give our postcode, account number and meter number. We said no and she said she would ring back. Obviously a dodgy call centre as other people have said other companies and reasons for the call! BLOCKED!!

Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Hung up on me and didn't call me back when I told him I keep very little in the account, whilst I was silently checking the account in the background. No further calls answered, this seems to not deter them at all, and is bordering on criminal harassment.
