My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Very rude people!! They have called me everyday and every day I have asked them nicely to take me off their data base - they all plead ignorant saying this is the first time they have called. They kept wouldn t listen when I told them I haven t been in an accident. I asked for their name and told them if they keep harassing me I will report them - she wouldn t give me her name and then hung up on me!
