HSBC scam?
Following my car being hit by a driver insured with Aviva, I have been pestered by this company so make a personal injury claim.
Called my aging father and said they were calling about an existing insurance policy for kitchen appliances.. one that we had and it needed renewed. He holds another policy with a well known company and it wasn't them. They were insistent that he had to renew it and he eventually hung up on them.

Possible spam or scam call. Caller mumbled something about BT openreach and tried to have a conversation with me. When I enquired what the call was about, he replied that he "just wanted to talk to me"....???? And then hung up.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. Had a missed called from 020 8068 5977 so rang them back - claimed to be Amazon customer services but I seriously doubt it!!
Fraud - Called pretending to be Carphone Warehouse offering cheap deals on phones. They ask for bank details and try to gather as much information from you as possible - not sure of the exact scam but no reputable company cold calls you.
