This was an Automated machine call stating it was HMRC (07278-161158). I am not aware of any issues I have with HMRC and reason to search if this is a scam.

I was contacted by this number. A recorded message saying that £300 had been taken from my card for £300 to Amazon and also £1100 to another supplier I do not deal with. As usual with these calls I was asked to press different number. I immediately hung up and checked my accounts. to find nothing had been taken.
Said from Barclays asking for our MD. Gave this number with option 1 and requested a return call from him.... urgently !

Just been called from this number claiming to be from BT Openreach wanting my Internet details as my security had been compromised. When challenged the caller was rude and hung up on me.This website suggests the phone is based near Greater Manchester but a phone locator website suggests it is based in London. Calling the number back yielded no response.
I haven’t answered this call yet as I tend to not answer calls where I don’t recognise the number - I figure if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail. I was getting consistent calls from another number in the same area as this one which I blocked yesterday, and now today I’ve already had two calls from this number in the same area. This was a scammer who pretended to be from BT talking about illegal access to your broadband.!! That's rich!! Hacked my bank account and Amazon a/c. It took ages-up to 5 days to clear this mess up and it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. If someone had asked me last night if the death penalty was appropriate for scammers, I would have agreed. Now thinking about it castration without anaesthetic would be better.
