I got a call this morning from this same and it sounded like an Indian person on the other line asking for my name and then it immediately dropped. I call back the number and the voice note confirmed that the number has been theft from another user and is now been used for SCAM and that none shouldn’t entertained it. This is a genuine number from santander fraud team. I was suspicious of the number so I rang it and explained I felt it was a scam and the advisor told me to ring the number on the back of my card which I did. And the fraud team confirmed that the text message was genuine and was from santander.

I received a call from 01792721946 this afternoon from a guy asking how much I paid monthly for my insurance policy but kept dodging the question of which company he worked for. He seemed to know my full name and address but I would imagine they found this online to give them the illusion that it's a real and legit company. She then tried to give me a number to call back. I challenged her and told her I thought she not not legit. She started arguing. I said a real customer agent would not argue like that. 01592 675873 called today, missed the call. When i tried to call it back, number was unavailable. Looks like a VoIP number used by scammers, this is their usual trait when trying to call the number back as it's only set to allow dialling out not calling back.

The caller reports to be from Microsoft and suggest your PC is vulnerable requiring an update. The call is protracted and the caller goes into lots of detail leaving you with the feeling that you have a problem. The caller indicates they can help with the update if they can take control of your laptop .... I stopped at that point.
