Im confused about these. I answered a call yesterday when I was at work. She said she was from virgin and needed to discuss my account. She wouldn t say why or give any indication as to what the call was about until I went through a security check. 01794399253 called my landline on Thursday 13 July and a recorded message advised me that money had been transferred from my account and to key 1 to sort it. 01794 is a Romsey UK number as is my number so I assumed it was local. I did not continue with the call. It was the same as other messages that I have received recently mentioned Amazon. How do scammers phone from local numbers?
