Received a text claiming to be from online retailer VERY regarding new stock of Xbox Series X for pre-order asking me to reply YES before 2200GMT 10/11/2020 if i'm interested in re-ordering from them. Contacted VERY customer services and queried the number to which they stated that it is legitimate and if replied YES to, I will receive a phone call to organise re-ordering or the console. This number is not secure, it is scammers pretending to be from O2, offering a 50% discount off your monthly bill. Tempting, obviously. They say a text will be sent to confirm this, followed by another text with a code to activate the offer. They will then ask you to repeat the code to them BUT doing this will allow them to take control over your account and possibly other info on your phone. Something didn't feel right so when they rang back for the code I didn't answer but googled O2 scams. Beware.
