Called from Citizens advice group. I questioned the male caller with a south Asian accent in some detail. He was very helpful. They were calling about debts and he asked what debts we had. I asked him where they got our number and he replied FCA ????????????. I then asked him for the person or department name as I have previously worked with FCA in the past, he didn’t give it to me. He was very polite and said he couldn’t continue. He also said they weren’t authorised in the UK!

This number relates to an investment scam called GFA capital. They get you to deposit a small amount of money ($275) and they claim they invest it in crypto and produce huge results. In 5 days my $275 grew to $75000. WOW Then one of their senior investment managers calls you and shows you a bitcoin opportunity, invest $18000 and they will produce a $10000 return in 5 days. BULLSHIT. I requested a withdrawal from my pot and was told that I had to pay £12000 tax to release the funds. Dangerous scam

SCAM I have this afternoon received a telephone call purporting to be National Grid Meter Department and confirming a date and time to change meter as they said it was over charging. Suggested a refund available since last year of £652.23 Offered a booking slot and advised the new meter number as E14UP04L89. This is a Bedford number so it will be the scammers at J Talk pretending to be your BT manager. Somehow got my personal mobile number but when told the time of day he rang the company number immediately. BT, how do these people obtain private details, someone must be passing them on?
