I had a guarded conversation with the caller who, as mentioned above, was calling on behalf of the RSPCA. Apparently he wanted to confirm details for Gift Aid purposes, which raised suspicion in my mind as there are always boxes to tick when completing donation forms for any charity. He did have my name and postcode already and was very polite, but clearly working from a script. I have not ever donated by text.

Fraud. First time they called they say that a year’s subscription for Amazon Prime has been taken and to get it back you have to follow their instructions which gives them access to your account.
