07477 102309 Purporting to be calling from HM Government, reporting that willful fraud has been committed by me and legal proceding were about to begin. £498 was the sum involved. (too little I think) Also the call was made on a public holiday.

This number left a voicemail saying my house is under surveillance and I face prosecution if I don't call back. Load of rubbish! No genuine authority would leave a message like that, nor would they contact you by phone!

Had just been passed my accisent file for a not at fault claim, I replied with 'Is that so?' I was asked whether the information he was provided was correct - Interested to see where this was going my reply was ' please proceed' I was then spoken to rather rudely ' There is no point proceeding if its not correct' and was hung up on...... Lovely way to spend my afternoon

Hi, I keep getting these calls aswell. The only reason I can think for these silent calls, would be to check for active mobile numbers - to later use with scam texts or for compiling a list of 'active' numbers, to be sold on. I am NOT an expert on any of this. I just cant think of another reason for them (no done research either)
